Coach's Corner

This upcoming 2006/07 season the Mat Rat Wrestling Club's (MRWC) Head Coach is Joe Jimenez. Coach Joe grew up wrestling as soon as he could walk (we estimate at age 3) his brother and he competed side by side as Dad and Mom provided the support and encouragement. Coach Joe and his coaching staff are ready to rumble and tumble on the mat. Come prepared to learn, get mentally prepared, meet the challenge and get fired up for the upcoming 2007 season. Coach Joe is married, has two sons Eli and Saul who are starting their 3rd year wrestling and like Dad will be forces to be reckoned with in the near future. Both sons wrestle at the Open (experienced) level and are tenacious wrestlers. Coach Joe and sons Eli and Saul are supported by Mom and sister who attend every tournament.

Coach Joe assisted the MRW club in 2005 as an Assistant Coach and 2006 as Head Coach. He has worked extensively with the all grades K-8th. He will be assisted by several Assistant Coaches all whom have various levels of Kids Club, High School, College Wrestling experience and/or Coaching experience. Mat Rat coaches are either Copper or Bronze certified by Missouri USA Wrestling. They are dedicated to assist your wrestler(s) in learning the sport and having fun at the same time.

We appreciate their time and energy to come and assist our youth.

Frank Pierce will assist behind the scenes as web master for now, he has a busy schedule this year and unfortunately can only pop in and out every now and then. Whatever you post in the forum goes directly to Franks email address so (please keep it clean) If you take any pictures he will do his best to get them loaded.

If you want to be a Coach for the 2006-07 Season call Coach Joe Jimenez for details. All new coaches must pay a registration fee of $40.00 and attend a Rules and Copper training class in order to obtain the Copper Card. All coaches who want to coach at a National tournament such as Liberty Nationals held in KC must be Bronze certified. Check the www.missouriusawrestling.org website for classes under the schedule section.
