Chaparral Kid’s Wrestling Club

Mission Statement:
Our mission at CKWC is to not only teach young kids of all colors, shapes and sizes the sport of wrestling. We also make it a priority to teach kids life lessons, in which we emphasize on those instances when they are presented. Winning is important, but it is not our main goal. We want to educate kids on our core values, which are respect, commitment, sacrifice, and heart.

The sport of wrestling is such a unique opportunity to develop meaningful relationships, sportsmanship and have great influence over a child’s actions/future. We are a youth wrestling program named Chaparral Kid’s Wrestling Club. We have been blessed with the opportunity to use the Harper and Anthony Elementary Schools as well as Chaparral High School as our practice and tournament facilities. We use character first training at every event/practice. As you know, the sport of wrestling will develop many great character traits. When you combine that with caring role models teaching character it is a successful combination that will produce great results in changing lives for the better.

The mentorship program we have created will be a key in the success of this effort and this role can be filled by anyone of age/sex/race etc. (no prior experience required) All you need is a heart to serve. We will partner with churches, foundations and other organizations to keep these children in a healthy, safe environment where they can grow to their full potential.

Another crucial key for success is to have the financial ability to support what we desire to do. The approximate cost for a child for the entire year is close to $300. This includes uniform costs approximately $100. (Wrestling shoes, singlet, bag, shirt, shorts, sweat pants and top) $110 for tournament entry fees (7 tournaments at approx. $15) plus insurance ($30 USA Wrestling card) and other miscellaneous costs. Our goal is to have somewhere between 12 and 60 children join the team. Please search your heart to give what you can. We are a non-profit organization any and everything you give will go directly to the kids.
