Rules

This year due to our new practice room that the Cameron High School is letting us use practices will be closed to parents. There is not enough room for parents to watch and with other sports such as basketball and volleyball going on in the gym parents will not be allowed to wait in the commons area. Everyones cooperation will be much appreciated in this manner.
All parents must sign the insurance forms and pay dues before their child will be allowed to step on to the mat.

Practice:
At practice we will focus on developing each kids wrestling skills. We all know that the only way to achieve our goals is through hard work, so expect you're kid to leave practice tired. Please have each kid dressed for practice when they arrive so he or she only needs to change into wrestling shoes. There will be no street shoes allowed on the mat. Each kid will be expected to treat the new wrestling room with respect. Please keep in mind we are guests in this facility.
The Cameron High School has been generous enough to let us use this room so lets try very hard to take care of it. During practice kids are expected to PRACTICE not goof off, talk, or play. All of the coaches volunteer their time so kids should be serious and ready to learn. We will attempt to make practice fun to a certain degree, but they are here to learn. We have some very talented kids that are very serious about wrestling.
So learning will be top priority and fun second. Remember be good sports at practices as well as at tournaments.

Tournaments:
Sportmanship is of the utmost importance. We will not allow any fit throwing of any kind on the mat. All competitors will be expected to walk on and off the mat with their head high and proud, win or lose. Any doubts about referee calls will be discussed by the referee and the coach that is mat side. As parents tend to get upset by some calls please restrain youreself and let the matside coach discuss it with the referee. Remember the Cameron Youth Wrestling has a very
good reputation and we need to keep it that way. Any kids that throw head gear or any other act of disrespect on the mat will be removed by the coach that is matside.
At tournaments we would like for everyone to sit together. That away it is easier to keep track of all of the kids. We need the parents to have there child ready for their match. The kids should be at matside two matches ahead of their match number.
