CONGRADULATIONS to the 91 STING Boys team for Winning State!!

The Flour Bluff Sting a 15 and under soccer team set a goal during the long summer training sessions to compete at the State Championship level. They met that goal this past weekend in Houston by playing in the State Championship tournament in Crosby, Texas.

In order to qualify for the state tournament they had to win district within the Coastal Bend Youth Soccer Association, which includes the Corpus Christi surrounding area. After becoming the Coastal Bend Youth Soccer Association champions they were qualified to participate in the South Texas Youth Soccer Association Western District Championship. Teams from Austin and as far south as the Valley competed to finish within the top two teams in their age bracket to qualify for the State Tournament. The Flour Bluff Sting placed within the top two teams taking first place honors by winning all four games. The Flour Bluff Sting out scored their opponents 12 goals to 1.

During the State tournament the Flour Bluff Sting rose to the challenge again winning all three games by out scoring there opponents 10 goals to 1. Each member displayed tremendous heart and pride by playing through injuries and fatigue with no substitutions available.

Flour Bluff Sting completed the sweep by winning all 7 playoff games and out scouring their appoints 22 goals to 2.

Flour Bluff Sting is coached by Rick Foust and trainer Gabe Fernandez.
The players who represented Flour Bluff Sting are:
Captain Cory Foust, Captain Taylor Gunter, Austin Rodriguez, Stuart Harris, Juan Ordaz, Roger Labato, Lee Robinson, Ryan Reader, Adali Arendela, David Isenberg, and Mark Levas.
