Coach's Corner
Cajon High School is located in the foothills of the San
Bernardino Mountains in San Bernardino, CA. We are the
home of the Cowboys and Cowgirls. The ledgendary Hank
Rone gave the team it's nickname in 1969....(the year I
was
born!!). Hank attended the University of Wyoming whos
mascot was the Cowboys.
Cajon competes in the San Andreas League in California's
CIF Southern Section Division I. The other teams in our
league include San Bernardino, San Gorgonio, Colton
Pacific, and Arroyo Valley. Our girls team has won the SAL
title for the past three seasons, (2004-2005-2006-2007).
finished 2nd in league in 2000-2002 and tied for 3rd in
2003.
Our boys have six 2nd place finishes and two 3rd place
finishes in SAL since 2000.
COACHES

Coach Quayle is in his eighth year as a walk-on coach.
Quayle was a distance standout in the early 80's at Cajon.
He along with Abrams head up the Cross Country
programs. He is also assistant boys track coach and
assistant girls coach.

I am in my 9th year as Cross Country Coach. I am a former
4 year high school cross country runner in high school
(1983-86) in Florida (Santaluces High School). I ran as a
member of an NAIA National Championship team at
Western State College, Gunnison,CO. (I was not on the
Varsity ). I am the Head Cross Country with Quayle and an
assistant track coach at Cajon High. I have been married
for four years to my beautiful wife Erika. We have a son
named Jaden Alexander Abrams, born March 26, 2004. We
also have a newborn, Brandon Daniel Abrams born March
5th, 2007. I recently received a Masters of Science degree
from the Azusa Pacific University. I currently teach
Physical Education at Lincoln Elementary where I have
been for 10 years.
