History

The Keighley Comets were set up in 1991 by Grandma Marjorie North, Mum Jayne Watmough and Daughter Marie Watmough in Keighley. With no twirling experience we started right from scratch. We began with some old marching gear and set up our own marching band to play the music in which we did routines to.

After a few years the band gradually got smaller and smaller and realized it was more efficient to use taped music.

From then we did a few comps. and began to find our own style.

We have always tried to be original and create our own moves, steps and dances.

From then our twirling ability and timing has improved vastly and with our knowledge and experience we train up new girls and most of the time find we can put them in a competing team the same year they join.
